KYC screening for your team

What we agree before starting
The interview is free. Bring the names you need screened, the countries involved, and any policy or report template you already use. A short description of the job is enough to begin.
- Which companies and people are in scope, and how we resolve unclear names.
- Which sources and policy apply, including any checks we cannot complete.
- What your team receives, who reviews it, and how questions or possible matches are handled.
- How and when the work is delivered, any integration needed, and a price for the agreed outcome.
Larger lists, your own watchlist, custom policy, report formats and integrations need this scoping step. Extra research or sources are agreed separately. Requesting broader coverage does not make it part of a standard screen.
What the report tells you
A standard screen records the subjects, sources checked, potential matches and gaps. Saved reports are available in PDF, Markdown and ZIP. For custom work, we agree on the format your reviewer needs before starting.
In our October 13, 2026 test, the screen for Amazon.com, Inc. returned no candidates across 11 checked sources. This is an edited summary of that real result, not a full report:

Not checked: World Bank debarment, Interpol, standalone DDTC debarment, Australian DFAT and adverse media.
That screen also did not establish ownership or check politically exposed persons. “No candidate found” applies to the sources checked at the time of the screen. It does not mean the company is safe to do business with. Read the real chat example and follow-up.
Where this fits in KYC
Cairn is useful when you need someone to run defined checks and deliver the findings for review. Your team can use the result alongside its existing onboarding process.
The default screen checks public sanctions, export-control and debarment lists. It does not verify ID documents, establish beneficial ownership, or provide a complete review of politically exposed persons and adverse media. If those are required, use a specialist provider or agree on separately sourced work that can meet the requirement. See current coverage and how the different kinds of KYC provider compare.
A person still reviews possible matches and makes the business decision. Hiring Cairn does not turn a screening result into compliance approval.
